The day started with a whirl wind of excitement. It was the day that our friends from Spina Wheel Chairs 4 Kids came to play on the water with Ann’s Angels. It was a great day with a lot of water skiing, food and laughter on Lake Silver in Winter Haven Florida. It was amazing seeing several of our friends get out on the water. The Smiles that are seen. The feeling of freedom it gives them from their wheel chairs or other devices is awesome. Jonna Meschke did interview videos with the kids and parents. Even though this was a makeup day for the clinic because of hurricanes earlier in the year it tuned out great. Ann’s Angels was very happy to have Wheel Chairs 4 Kids spend the day on the water with and we look forward to seeing them next year.
“. . . whether or not it is clear you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.”
I used to believe these words. Should I still believe them?
I recently read an article that asked if it is still a beautiful world? My answer is YES. I work with an organization that shows just how beautiful and selfless people in this world can be. This picture right here shows that:
You have a father of two and a young and upcoming pilot and little “Peanut”. Peanut through no fault of his own was born with condition that leaves him in a wheelchair. These gentlemen along with the rest of our volunteers give their time on the weekends to help children and adults with physical and mental challenges to have experiences they could not have any other way. For a lot of these kids this is their chance to feel like they are riding a roller coaster or as one young man said this weekend that he got to go “fun speed”. So when people say there is no good in the world. I want to say take the time to look around. Good exists in this world more than bad we just have to look for it because society wants to focus on the bad and not praise the awesome human beings that are living today and helping amazing children who remind us that life is a gift and we should all enjoy it every day.
Back to The Lake House:
After the Wheelchairs 4 Kids Clinic at Lake Silver 6 of our team members drove to the Lake House on Lake Jessie for one more ride. We still had one more to take out for a ride on our home site that day. Both the mans wife and relatives turned out to watch him do the imposable. Water Ski like he did before he his diagnoses years ago. Up and away he went first try and the young man in him came out before the fist turn. Waving to his family and remaking I did not think we could do this anymore. Thank You ! You are truly Angels in my eyes. With tears in their eyes as well as ours the day ended on a great note…. Anne…. We hope we made you proud today?
